About the Speaker
Currently serving as a Senior Food Standards Expert at the Qatar General Organization for Standardization – Food and Agricultural Standards Department, since 2022. Joined the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO) in 2003, where he held several positions, including: Director of the Research and Studies Department. Officer at the Quality Assurance and Control Department. National Focal Point for the SPS (Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures) and TBT (Technical Barriers to Trade) Agreements. Head of the Food Standards Department. Served as a member and rapporteur of several technical committees for the development of Sudanese national standards. Member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expert group that developed Halal food standards and accreditation requirements for Halal certification bodies. Participated in numerous national, regional, and international conferences, including Codex Alimentarius meetings. Author and editor of 10 books, including 5 reference books in food and quality-related fields. Contributed to the development of around 100 national and international standards. Published more than 150 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. Holds expertise in food standards quality and safety, conformity assessment, strategic planning, and training of trainers.
